A stately pair of modern nightstands in subtly figured curly cherry wood with contrasting birch accents and brass fittings. Designed in the early 1950s for Johnson Furniture by longstanding creative director Renzo Rutili, and retailed by John Stuart in New York, the nightstands have a back-beveled surface that extends a slight ledge over the case. The body of the each holds two identical drawers, each with cherry facing and a central bar pull in birch and brass. The uppermost drawers are marked with the Johnson Brothers logo. The backs are finished with cherry panels. Marked underneath with Rutili’s model no., R#243. We have a matching dresser from this collection also available.

Condition: Professionally restored and hand-oiled. Brass fittings have been polished.
